I would have thought this would have been brought up in earlier posts. Tried searching for the information but really didn't find anything.

I'm thinking about adding a M28 Finn to my collection. In my 91/30s and M44s I've been shooting suplus ammo which is .311 diameter. I've been led to believe that the Finn barrels are .308 diameter.

Shooting large amounts of surplus ammo through a Finn barrel will have what kind of effect on the bore?

Some Finns are .308, others are .310.

Mostly, the M28's and M28/76's are the .308. Almost always a M39 will have a .310 bore. Certainly a Finned M91 or M91-30 with the original Russian barrel should be .310. Only way to be 100% sure is to slug the bore.

I wouldn't put .310 steel core surplus down a .308 bore due to increased barrel wear. I have read the Finns told their soldiers the same. The ability to use captured Russian ammo is one of the main reasons the M39 went to a .310 bore.
