What surplus scopes are there besides the PSO? By surplus I mean was: used by a military, decent quality, and is now being sold at a relatively low price. Reproductions can be included.

Thanks for any responses.

P.S. web links would be appreciated.

That's a good question...is there going to be a big dump of ACOGs, Eotechs, and Aimpoints in 10yrs (or whenever) if .mil gets fresh ones?

Not unless they get an administration change. The military sent out a letter to agencies that got M16 through the lend lease program, wanting them checked to see if any had tritium sights and to return the tritium sights because they were "RADIOACTIVE" and "RESTRICTED". It was almost like they did not know you can buy tritium sights over the counter. I have lost much faith that the liberal civilian oversight will allow such "evil" items into the hands of the peasants. And these items like many others will wastefully be destroyed.

Surplus scopes worth a damn aren't cheap.

The Henscholdt Stanag 4x ones for the G3 etc were selling beat to hell ones that still barely worked for $150. They sold out pretty much immediately, since normally they're $400ish with mount. I remember when the scope alone was over $600.

There are guys who collect this stuff seriously, and not enough general issue scopes. ACOGs won't fly thanks to tritium issues, and Aimpoints/Eotechs are going to be run into the ground long before they get surplused (if ever).

This is one place where the commercially availlable stuff is going to be cheaper for comparable quality.

PSO/Combloc stuff just isn't as nice as what we're accustomed to here to be honest.
