Should I email the writer?
I was thinking of sending the following letter to the writer of this article. He pissed me off so substantially I was actually dizzy. Tell me what you guys think and if I should send it. I want it to represent us all as responsible shooters.

Dear Mr. Fleischauer and Ms. Holly Hollman
It took TWO people to write that article?! Wow. We have a pair of winners here. Someone get that Pulitzer ready.
You are clearly forgetting one of the major ethical considerations of journalism. Do not become part of the story.
I quote: "On the night before Christmas, Farron Barksdale was browsing at Larry's Pistol and Pawn in Huntsville."
These sarcastic and unnecessarily playful opening lines of an article that centers on the tragic death of two police officers point to the fact that you two "journalists" are more interested in seeing your own writing in print than in relating a news story from an unbiased point of view. Next time you decide to squeeze your political agenda into one of your articles perhaps it would lend you more credibility if you appeared more sensitive to the subject matter.
If there is one thing that ticks me off more than people who use words like "deadly" and "assault rifle" for the sake of adding drama in place of actually researching their facts, it's bad writing!!
I would love to give you a lesson on the realities of firearms and the capabilities of guns and their associated ammunition. I am a Certified Pistol Safety Instructor with over thirteen years experience as a recreational shooter and collector. I offer you my services as a consultant. Feel free to email me with any firearms related questions.
By the way, the next time someone is run down by a car in your community would you please refer to the vehicle as a deadly, guard-rail piercing, projectile driven by a lunatic who purchased the car from a dealership that sells many like it as well as other "less dangerous" cars.
Respectfully,
