Finally had a chance to put some rounds through the new toy, an SW1911 after recall repair. First, the 1911 takes some getting used to putting it back together, nothing like my other semi-autos. Never owned a 1911 before.
I am used to 9mm so I was not sure what to expect from the .45acp. It was a pussycat in the 39oz SW1911. The recall is much different than a 9mm and more to my liking.
Anyway, I shot 150 rounds of Winchester White box 230 grains and 20 rounds of PMC starfire 230 grain hollowpoints. Not a single misfire or any other failure of any kind. The accurracy was amazing. I have never shot so well. At 25 yards I have a tough time keeping all the shots in a nine inch circle. Not anymore, the SW1911 makes one nice big hole.
I shoot to have fun and this gun is fun to shot, comes with some nice features and the price is reasonable, at least as far as 1911s go. I am happy so far, just have to learn to field strip and assemble with less hassle.
Take care, Siglaw.
