Was unsure whether to post this in reloading or rifle country, mods please move if needed:

I was curious if anyone has used SWC bullets in their 1892 levers with success? I have an EMF (Rossi) 1892 in 45Colt that I shoot 100% reloaded ammo in. I was thinking about trying some SWC bullets but I've never used them in this gun and am afraid they may not cycle well. To date, I've only ever used RN lead and XTP hollowpoints, both of which feed without problem.

Any experience is appreciated, even other calibers or different levers.

I have used them in Marlins but they required a little adjustment in my lever technique. I had to turn the carbine slightly off vertical and sharply actuate the lever. Load a half dozen dummy rounds and try it, it may take a while to figure out the correct positioning and speed of actuation. I cast only Keith style SWC with the very sharp shoulder. You may have to experiment with seating depth ,also.

They worked just fine in my Rossi 92 in 357. It and my Marlin will feed wadcutters if i seat them out of the cases about 3/8ths".

I made a tool to radius the back edge of the Marlin barrels and now my 357 and 44 mags feed semi-wadcuuters very smoothly with no hang ups or catches.

I posted how I did this in the Marlin 1894 owners thread if you want to read it.
