Swfa scope on a Serbu bfg50

I removed my NF scope from my BFG50 to put on another project. I don't have the money to replace it with another nightforce. Since I only shoot at my 700 yard range, can anybody recommend which super sniper might not only hold up to this bolt .50 bmg, but have good enough range at 700 yards? Thanks!

Most 50BMG don't have a lot of recoil since most come with very effective brakes.

Give a budget and you will get more recommendations.

Any of the SS scopes will take 50BMG.

It's apparently not the recoil that kills the scope. It's the reverb from the brake. I'm not sure how much I want to spend... I took an $1800 scope off, and don't feel like spending $1,800 on a 750 yard gun. Thanks!

SS are rated for 50 BMG. Remember they were first built for a Navy contract and it actually passed all the testing.

Well, the original 10x and 16x fixed-power SS were. The SS brand has expanded though, so I don't know that everything in the line-up is as durable.

Personally I would keep the NF on your .50 and buy a lesser scope for your other rifle, never know when you'll get a chance to shoot past 700 yards.

My friends BFG turned his SS reticle into an X, I don't care who tested them but the SS would be my lowest choice. There are other scope brands that are under a grand that would work better.

Doing the same thing here.

SWFA fixed 16 power will be going on my 50. Millet TRS / LRS scopes are another decent option for a shooter on a budget but I LOVE the SS mil-quad reticle.

I have a 20x SS on my Zel .50 upper. It works fine, I have had it out to 700 yards. DO NOT fire it with the sun shade on. The shade will go bye-bye. :banghead:

My Serbu BFG tired a millet and a Bushnell 3200? Into a collidascope... Both were mounted at a reputable smith. Something about this particular rifle that kills " rated for 50 scopes" etc.
