To anyone familiar with Swiss rifles...
I'm trying to decide between a Swiss K11 and K31. I'd really prefer a K11, but the lowest distance setting on the K11 rear sight is 300 meters whereas the K31 starts at 100 meters. Unfortunately, I only have access to a 100 yd range and the hold under for 100 yds with the K11 is approximately 12".
My question is whether there is anything that would recalibrate the sights or help to overcome this issue short of putting up two targets with one at POA and the other at POI. Since this rifle would be iron sights only, I can't simply stick a 1" paster under my target. For my old eyes, it has to be big enough to see it.

Thanks for any help offered. I'd really like the K11.

A 300 yard zero on GP11.. wouldn't that hit about 5.25" high at 100? (A 12" high impact at 100 yards would put you closer to a 500 yard zero...)

Staple one of these up at 100 yards, balance the circle it makes on your front sight blade (e.g. use a 6 o-clock hold) and you'll be putting holes in the middle of them at 100 yards.

Forget swapping parts, there's a LOT of advantages to a 300 yard zero that's hitting 5.25" high at 100 yards.. maximum point blank range on that cartridge w/ a 12" vital zone is somewhere around 345 yards with a zero of 291 yards.

In other words, with that zeroed at 300, you can hold dead center of ANY target between 0 and 350 yards, and get a hit in a 12" circle because the bullet doesn't rise above or drop below a line extending 6" from point of aim... (think, human torso).

That lets you make fast shots on targets with "good enough" accuracy to put rounds in to the vitals, and no correction required for windage.
