Switching 550B from .45 to 9mm (and back)

Well I fall on the side that it is no big deal to switch. I have six powder measure setups with their respective dies all set up. I go mainly from .45acp to 9MM and back with loadings in .45LC and .38spl/.357 as well. I think the answer is to look for a press on ebay - just the press and set it up for LPP, life than would be good after I got out of the hospital after my wife got done with me. LOL

Adjusting the dies for different bullets is more of a PITA so I tend to load a bunch of one bullet/caliber combo at a time.

Take Care

Odd, but it bells a different amount when those screws are loose...
If you can, try to keep the screws "almost" tight rather than backing them most of the way out.

At first, it's frustrating but once you get the hang of it, the whole thing takes a few minutes.

Also, get a cheapie nut driver that's the right size for the powder adjustment screw and keep it at your bench. It makes powder changes a whole lot simpler. Also, keep track of how much, say 1/2 turn changes your weight with a given powder. Suppose you're using WW231 and 1/2 turn changes the amount by .3 grains. If you need to increase from 5 to say 6 grains, you want to turn it slightly more than 1 1/2 turns and check again. You'll be suprised how close this is. The nut driver works way better than a wrench because it's easier to watch the writing on the driver handle and tell how far it's been turned HTH
