I am switching from red dot powder to bullseye powder. I currently load my 45 200 grain semi wadcutter with 4 grains of red dot. I like that load. I would like to get similar velocities with the bullseye. So, how much do I use?

What's the velocity for the red dot?

Next place I would check would be the manual to see what charges it call for, for BE. Then I would do the workup and shoot them over a chronograph and you should be able to see which load gives the same velocity.

Bullseye and Red Dot are going to yield very similar recoil and velocity it 45acp. A good place to start is 4gr. The manuals I have and Alliants current load data all show Bullseye being only 10-20fps slower that Red Dot at max charge with 220gr LSWCs.

You may want to bump the Bullseye load up slightly. I typically use 4.5gr of Bullseye with my cast bullets as they are a bit harder than the typical 200gr SWC "swaged" bullets.
Co-competitiors in PPC use the 200gr swaged Delta Precision SWC over 4.0gr of Bullseye (and current male and female semi-auto service gun records are with this load), but they have to reduce the recoil spring to a 12 or 14lb spring for reliable cycling. (The female shooter uses a 12lb as she dosen't present as much "resistance" to the recoil of the load in the M1911).

I use a standard 16.5lb spring and with 4.0gr of Bullseye, I will get occasional failure to feed. However, with 4.0gr of RedDot or Clays, I get reliable cycyling.

The RED Dot load will be getting about 800fps (4.0gr), whereas the Bullseye load will be running ~725fps.
Bullseye is listed as a little bit slower than RedDot and has a "softer" pressure curve. Either have given me exceptional accuracy, however.
Currently, when I use the .45acp for matches, I use 4.2gr of Clays... Gives about 825fps and better accuracy with my "harder" SWC's. (Lee's copy of the H&G).
