I have been whining for a digital podwer scale/measure for months and since my barfday is comin up, SWMBO says I can have one (especially since I showed her that the $260 retail pricetag aint whay Im gonna be paying....)

I really like that Lyman version...so who else has one of those or something else and what do ya think?

Yeah but the Dillon one is just a scale...the Lyman one is a scale and measure together.....hit the button and it meters it out!

Ooops - sorry!

Was only thinking scales.

Mind you - I only use these for special loads ... hand cannon stuff and rifle...... otherwise use volumetric via disk (OK, only Lee) .... having checked that first against the scales. So doubt I'd go for a combined unit .... nice tho it sounds.

Wild,

Here is a review of the PACT unit that I did up.

I know for a fact the RCBS unit is manufactured by PACT, just put into a different colored packaging.

Most of my friends lust over the Lyman unit, and I'm not totally sure why. The only reason I can think of is because it is a one-piece unit. Supposedly, the Lyman doesn't require the calibration that the Pact does. Calibration on the PACT is under 2 minutes and you only have to do it when you change powders.

Overall, I'm happy with the system. Saves me from hand trickling all the time. I usually sit at my bench with a book and work through the process.

I will say this though....several friends come over to my place to use the PACT unit as it's so painless.

Joe over at Realguns.com has/had one (the RCBS model I think). His reviews (and the fact he stopped using it) was enough to keep me from buying one.

I have been wanting the lyman 1200 DPS for quite a while now. I almost bought one, then it went and won that dang Reloading Accessory of the Year award and the price shot up to 300 bucks. Now it's getting back down to where it was when it first came out.

I've also heard good things about the RCBS/PACT scale-dispenser, but it is quite a bit more.
