Went dove hunting today when it began to rain. However I did notice my gun does not like the rain! I used my Winchester SX2 26". It only came with one weight spring and one gas piston. The owners manual says the setup of this gun can handle 3 1/2" mag loads all the way down to 1oz 2 3/4" light loads. I had about 5-6 failures today. One fail to feed, and quite a few stovepipes. It kinda made me mad cause I bought this gun for waterfowling and those conditions can get quite worse. I think the main reason is because the ejector was wet at times and maybe under lubed. This gun never gives me a problem in good weather hot or cold. I guess I should also mention it is brand new and only has about 100-150 rounds through it. Mainly high brass pheasent (cycled fine), some high brass steel duck shells to test it out (cycled fine), and light meat shoot loads that it stovepiped every one. All the dove shot 1 1/2oz #7 steel at 1350fps (Winchester Expert) that we had to use today did alright aside from these few problems. What do you guys think? maybe it still needs some "break in" time?
