Is anyone on this forum shooting both .223 and 5.56 in their Compass?
Reading about the interchangeability of the two rounds, it seems that the chamber should be for the 5.56. If it is chambered for the .223, shooting 5.56 would show increased pressure over the .223 chamber, and could be dangerous to life, limb.
I would think T/C would know this and chamber accordingly before marking the rifle .223 / 5.56.

And here’s the old debate again. It’s not dangerous. I have the T/C Venture in .223. It’s been fed the cheapest Tula to high end Hornady in .223 and 5.56. I’ve never been concerned. Nor will I ever be. These are bolt guns with modern metals that are tested to significantly higher pressures than hot reloads. Factory loads are pretty anemic in pressures because of lawsuits.
