My Lee manual has a section for 45 colt for Ruger and T/C only because it is +P. My Lyman manual on the other hand, has a T/C section but makes no mention of Ruger. The figures for both manuals are very similar. The pressures are all within the same range and the powder charges are very close for their respective bullets and powders. In some cases the Lyman manual (T/C only) actually has weaker loads than the Lee (Ruger and T/C). Would it be safe to assume that the T/C loads in the Lyman are applicable to Rugers as well even though it makes no mention? The reason I ask is becauses the figures are so close it just seems that the Lyman might have purposefully omitted Ruger because they aren't as comfortable with the liability based on just a reputation (in Rugers case, that their handguns are built stronger)?

Just for reference the loads in question use 250gr Jacketed bullets and pressures listed in both are between 19000 and 21000 CUP.

I am reloading for a Super Blackhawk in 45 colt.

Thanks.

There are various Ruger guns that shoot 45 Colt loads and some shouldn't be shot with loads that a T/C or Super Blackhawk would handle just fine. I presume that may be the reason Ruger isn't mentioned specifically.

For a similar reason, published loads for old military rounds like the 7X57 Mauser are a bit anemic because the publisher doesn't know if the handloader is going to be loading for an old rifle or a new one.
