I remember seeing on one of the forums, this one I think, a cool tactical 10/22 kit. Did a failed search already but if anyone knows anything about a tactical 10/22 kit I would be interested.

The only one that comes to mind is a stock setup from Tapco. It looks a little goofy to me though. If you find one let me know!

You're probably thinking of the AR-22 from Nordic Concepts. Try searching using those terms here, or Google. Either way it should bring up what you're looking for.

Hope that helps!

Other kits...

There is also the krinker plinker, which is a ak kit for the 10/22. From what I understand, the stock is a little short and it's expensive. The Nordic is probably the way to go.

Kingpin- I think thats the one.
HB- Thanks!
DoubleTap- "Tactical" worked well enough in my case, but thanks for the advice.

Heh. They might, but I've gotta say, every time I get to that cash register, I love my .22's just a little bit more.

Say what you like, but if you like "tactical" stuff, and you wanna shoot a lot, .22 makes a lot of sense.

Unless you've got money-tree seeds.

And a well decked out 10/22 is a great little camp rifle, or even a good defensive weapon if push comes to shove. That little 22lr is nasty enough to stop most folks.

Indeed. My "walkin-around-the-woods" gun is a .22 Ruger Bearcat.

Love that little guy.

MonkeyBear, I say tactify away if that's what floats your boat.

"...tactical 10/22 kit..." There's no such thing as a 'tactical' anything. It's a marketing term only. It's sole purpose is to separate you from your money. If any of the bazillion aftermarket stuff available for 10/22's doesn't make it shoot better(few of 'em do), you've wasted your money.
You're better to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best and cycles the action reliably first. If you change anything(stock, barrel, etc) you have to start over.

Sunray- I just used the word that I thought would get me the answer I needed. It worked, in fact two of the first three post named the exact product I wanted. I have purchased many things for my rifles that did not necessarily make them shoot better and yet I never felt like I wasted my money, probably because I did not make those purchases with the intent of making my guns shoot better. Heck I spent over $100 on new furniture for a PTR91 that I don't even have yet, because I want OD green and they come in black.

As for the kit, its for my fiance, I want to dress a 10/22 since ARs are too heavy for her. This way she can have something very similar to what I have only without the discomfort of holding a weapon up that is too heavy for her. Also she thinks they "look cool". Also I think they look cool.

Hi. "...Also she thinks they "look cool"..." Can't say as I'd argue with that. The 10/22 has more aftermarket stuff than any semi-auto .22. Work on the ammo though. It's critical. Just don't get PO'd when she shoots better than you do. Women tend to be inherently better shots than guys are.
"...since ARs are too heavy for her..." Think prone shooting or a bipod. Standing(?) doesn't give the best accuracy anyway. Had a 5 foot nothing female Army Cadet, long ago, who could shoot circles around most of the 6' plus teenage guys with an 11 pound FN C1A1. And a No. 4 Lee-Enfield.

Depends on how 'tactical' you want to get and how much you want to spend.
This level of tactical cost me about $70. $50 for the stock, $20 for the mag. The scope and rings are the same in the evil and nice configurations.

bling is bling........all that chrome on bikes don't make them run any better/faster but it sure do make 'em look good. Those new tight-fittin' jeans on your OL don't make her any better at anything but they do make her bottom look better from behind. Same with new furniture on a gun...and since most 10/22's are quite plain looking to start with, I say go for it.

As for all the overused "tactical" hype, I take it with a grain of salt, especially the Tactical underwear and pen and pencil sets........:D

Ahh how true :p

Every woman I have taken shooting has shot better on her first day than most of the guys I know shoot now.

especially the Tactical underwear

I wear HK underwear, dose that count as tactical?

Talked to my fiance. We decided on Zac's Nordic kit, this stock and an EOtech. Now we just need to pick out a free float tube thats light and easy on the hands.
