I’ve heard tell in the past people use to put various items in things called 'pockets'. And they could take things out and put other things in as they’re needs changed. Of course this was before specialization.

Now a days we have pants with 7 pockets plus 3 hidden ones—one if which we will call Amodio. Sure you will always find two of them; but never the same two and never all 3 at once--even with the instructions that are translated by an Indian from Chinese into English. What the photographers started with their vest-of-many pockets has now become generic. So, along with your 10 (or 9) pocket pants you can wear the 37 ( 8 hidden—and don’t go there) pocket vest. I recommend you buy these in twos.

Practice is important cause what with 47 pockets (remember—your actual findable pockets may vary) you have to:
Find that many things to actually put in them. Usefulness at this time is not as important as quantity.
Remember which pocket you put what into
And the items expiration date.

You have to practice till you not only remember what’s in which pocket but can actually get it:
In time for it to be useful
Before you forget why you were wanting it
Before your expiration date

This is why I said buy in twos—your gonna wear one out by the time you figure it out.

Now, since you are going to practice—you are going to practice before you go out in the world dressed like a Swiss army knife, right?? I’m gonna bet you practice in front of a mirror. Two things here to know:
The mirror will confuse left and right but as half the population does this already—what’s the big deal? You know which half you are and if you don’t, it still won’t matter.
And—THIS IS IMPORTANT—do not ever, never ever, put anything in the secret pockets. What with the mirror reversing things ( and knowing this , you anticipate the reversen the reverse) and the ability of the hidden pockets to hide, one of the mars rovers stands a better chance of finding it than you do.
If an item (or two) should happen to turn up unfindable—empty out what you can (bet there’s stuff there now you already forgot you had) and give the clothing to mom.

Cause as we all know —everything comes out in the wash.

I'm sure there's some firearms related content in one of those pockets, but I sure don't see it.

I have a "safari vest" I got for IDPA. I lost a pack of gum in it. It is still there, I can feel it but I can't find the pocket it is in. I may have to get my tactical scissors out...:(, it need to be washed.

Ah yes, the V.O.M.P (Properly called "The Vest O' Many Pockets", proper Irish accent required).

I've used mine for carry WHILE being weighed down by two camera bodies and about $3,000 in lenses.

Sadly while wearing a V.O.M.P. I'm brain-trained such that I'd be far more likely to speed-draw a Canon 50mm than a CZ 9mm <grin>.

Its jealousy.

Guys envy us ladies with our heavily compartmented purses that keep the lipstick from getting tangled up with the LadySmith and keep the spare ammo out of the spare change.

A guy somewhere decided that he wasn't going to take it anymore after desperately turning out his pockets in an attempt to stop coming up with lockwashers instead of his lockback knife. ;) :D LOL

I always wear tactical clothing while I'm relieving thugs of their weapons, and making them pee their pants during my monthly rent gathering safaris.

Oh and while I'm at it

IBTL :)

I believe he is talking about the 5.11 line of tactical clothes.

A criminal justice professor of mine, whom also was a retired detective, always wore 5.11 type clothes to class, despite being long retired from law enforcement. He looked like a total dork.

5.11 type clothes is lame. Clothing that is both "tactical" and "casual" at the same time seems a bit oxymoronic.

Though I don't own any, I like the 5.11 pants. I may end up getting a pair. They look good to me, not overly tacticool.

I do own a pair of cargo pants and find the side leg pockets very handy since I prefer to carry my cell phone and wallet in them, rather than in my front and/or back pockets. Much more comfortable and better appearance, too.

5.11 pants
I have a few pairs, they're great except for the silly retention strap on one of the rear pockets.
Comfortable, plenty of pockets, rugged, and not too terribly "tactikool" ... Of course I've been wearing cargo pants for years, so they weren't too much of a change.

Of course, if I were to get them in black and put "SWAT", "POLICE", "SECURITY" or something like that on them, I'd expect to be ridiculed, but as it is, they are some very nice 100% cotton cargo pants.

I can't keep track of 7 pockets between pants, T-shirt and jacket and now you all want me to buy more pockets. Thats what sheathes, holsters, tool pouches, and brief cases or tool boxes are for. Pockets, I don' need no more steenk'n pockets.

Look at the Woolrich Hobnail Cargo Pants.

"Normal" looking and still plenty of pockets without the "I'm a mall ninja" feel to them :)

I'm guessing all the people who didn't get it also don't understand why people make are always making fun of their Glocks with the attached flashlights, lasers, and can openers. :neener:
