Hello All,

I'll hopefully soon be in the market for a .22 tactical plinker... would prefer it to have a collapsible folding stock - so far the Ruger 10/22 with an ATI fold-able collapsible stock (model # 1287) and the Sig 522 classic seem to be the best options (for under $400)

The Ruger 10/22 1287 goes for around $300, the Sig 522 goes for around $400 with a not so great scope. Everyone has a 10/22 so easier to find parts for, but it seems the Sig 522 seems to be an overall better rifle out of the box. Both have similar features - 16" threaded barrel, several options for 25 rnd magazines, not so great plastic rails, easy take down (well from the you-tube videos) & collapsible folding stocks.

So... would you say the Sig 522 is worth the extra cash?
