Tactical semi auto

I want a semi-auto shotgun, barrel length 18-20'', with preferably a higher magazine capacity for home defense primarily but it will be used for everything, and by everything I mean hunting, skeet, and anything else.

I like the Benelli M2 tactical which just looks like a really quality gun, any other recommendations?

Unrelated question: for skeet and trap, could I get by using a gun with open rifle sights (eg M2 Tactical) or would it have to be bead sight?

I have a Remington 1100, I bought around 1980, that had a ventillated 28" barrel. I cut the barrel down to 22" put a magazine extension on it, also a sling and a stock sock that holds an additional 5 rounds: that's in addition to the 8 rounds it holds. I also replaced the front sight with a white bead, and installed a good quality recoil pad. I took the gun to Trinidad, Colorado, and qualified as a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor for the Handgun and Shotgun. Needless to say that firearm (shotgun) placed all its rounds in the full size silhouette target at 50 yards, with no problem. Note taking that barrel down to 22" took away any choke that the barrel had, I believe it would have been choked cylinder. Also I have a 26" vented barrel for skeet with all the choke tubes, that I've used for dove, chukar, pheasant. I also have a 30" barrel that I use for Trap ( I have a Browning BT99 for Trap), and mostly duck hunting.

Mossberg 930 Combo, can be found NIB for less than $550, has a 18 1/2" heavy walled cylinder barrel with bead sight and 28" ported smooth bore barrel with choke tubes. Extra barrels are cheap, receiver is drilled and tapped for a rail, no oring to deal with and very reliable. You will not find a cheaper more versatile shotgun made in the USA, well its the only one made in the USA in the price range.

You don't have time to aim in skeet or any other type of shotgun games, bead and ignore it.
