I'm still a bit of a noob and I'm thinking about purchasing this handgun.

It looks pretty darn pristine to me, but I'd like some more people's input. :D

In the last picture, are those two blemishes on the underside of the slide anything to be concerned with?

Why do I say what? That's it's worth $550? Because that's the most I would pay for one and that's what they are going for these days.

I had one just like that and I loved it. They are brick solid and very easy to use. They will take whatever torture you give it and beg for more while laughing.

BTW: The two-tone models were discontinued two years ago so it's somewhat of a collectible. (well, maybe one day.)

It looks brand new. 50 rounds? Ok, I'll buy that. If it was more than 50 you would have wear on the barrels locking block, below the serial #. What's not to like? Let us know how it shoots.

It looks pristine. It is the discontinued stainless version. It has hardly been shot--you can tell by the absence of wear on the barrel. The blemishes are normal wear. If they worry you, put a little grease there after you clean, it should help limit any additional wear against the barrel hood.

If the price is reasonable, if it fits your hand, and if you like it, get it. I know I'll never get rid of mine--because my wife likes it so much it's now her's.

The frame looks like it's wearing ALOT of lube but other than that, it looks nice...how about the breech? The barrel looks like it has had a few rounds through it but not many. I've noticed the SS versions have garnered a bit of a premium but really the gun will last & serve you well for a VERY VERY long time.

USPc 9mm V1 SS go for $599 at CDNN. The $550 figure sounds OK. What is the asking price? My slide shows some wear inside, a little shinier where parts rub. I make sure there's a daub of oil there.

It looks just like a Glock on the inside, save your self some money (about $100.00) and get your self a Glock. You can get a NICE Glock for around $450.00. The inside looks the same as a Glock, the outside is different and I'll lay money that it is not as tough as a Glock on the outside. Which ever, that was my $0.02, good luck on your new gun, which ever one you get.

buy it brother, i would, ss an H&K and .40 heck yeah, don't give me an excuse to buy one!:)

btw how much do they want for it? thanks

TK,

It looks great. I second the impression that it has very few rounds through it. Otherwise it would most likely show considerably more wear on the top of the chamber and the first inch of the barrel.

2003 manufacture, with low round count. If it's the make and model you want, and the price is reasonable, snatch it up. USPs are bulletproof and unbelievably easy to care for. My only complain about them is the spongy trigger.

Cheers,
B.

Thanks for the advice...

And hello to a fellow 210er. :cool::D

I'd go for it, why not? I would check out gunbroker.com and see what other people are buying and selling these for. Like some have stated the ss slide models are getting harder to find, especially in like-new condition.

Now I know a lot of people think that USP's are over-priced and over-rated. A little searching on the forum and you'll find a lot of mixed opinions regarding HK, espically the attitude the have towards their civilian market. However I really like mine and I don't regret spending the money on it.

I realize there are many different handguns available right now, and almost of all them will suit my needs just as good as this one. If I get this Hk, I plan on keeping it forever so I don't think I'm going to mind getting this. Like you said, it's getting harder and will keep getting harder to find Hks with SS slides in this good of condition. I know I will eventually have to buy one of these because I have a special place in my heart for them for some reason, lol, but I might as well get this now if the price is right...

Yea but

USPc 9mm V1 SS go for $599 at CDNN. The $550 figure sounds OK.

The SS slide versions went for about $100 more new, and I the 40s are a bit more too.

Offer $600 shipped. The gun is fine. Or offer $550 but be prepared to negotiate up. I sold a used blue finish version about 4 years ago (face-to-face) for $595. The seller might go for $550 shipped ..but I suspect he won't. I wouldn't.

GunBroker Completed Auctions for HK USPc SS .40 or 9mm Compact:

GunBroker Completed Auctions for HK USP Blue .40 Compact (w/ night sights):

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=63084374 Used / $575 / KY

Most of the above prices don't reflect shipping (call it $25), and definitely don't include FFL transfer ($25-$50), or applicable state tax.

I see used blued compacts (w/ night sights) retailing in Texas gunshops $650-$695 (plus .0825% tax and $15 NIC). $720 low price out the door.

Factory Night Sights add about $80-$100 to the value of most handguns [unless the tritium vials are old and weak (8-10 years or more)]

Regional prices vary a bit, but you are unlikely to find a USP of any variant for less than $600 in most states (except for well used LEO trade-ins...). Don't sweat small price differences...the one you found looks good. The next time you look, a comparable specimen will cost more.

Good luck.

The gun looks great. Very few rounds through it, 50 sounds about right. Depending on the price ($600 and under) I'd buy it.

Glocker-looks can be deceiving...there is a big difference between a Glock and a HK. Both are great guns, but they have a totally different feel and manual of arms. Different strokes for different folks you know? I much prefer a HK and am willing to pay extra for it.

I have one in 9mm, its very nice to shoot and somewhat easy to carry even with the thick slide. Have yet to jam it with thousands of rounds fired.:D

600 is a good price on a SS as they are not imported any longer. You will love the gun. Sometimes CDNN Investments has the SS at decent prices. Check there first just to see what or if they have, or, get it and be done with it!
