Talk of the SP101 in .22 made me want a .22 DA revolver...

just not the SP. When the SP101 in .22lr was first announced, I said I'd buy one. I got tired of waiting and bought this Colt MK III before the Ruger hit the shelves. It didn't appear fired, until today. It shoots pretty darn good.

That's a nice revolver you have there no doubt the quality is top notch. The waiting on the Ruger may or may not hurt the sales but the interest is still quite strong for those that want one.

Personally I think you bought a nicer gun and would be proud to add one to my .22 collection.

I'd say you did a lot better than that Ruger but I too want to try one out. I'd like to see how it compares to my 4" 617 and 3" 317.

Well, I agree the Colt is "better" overall but you ain't exactly gonna slip it into your pocket when you go fishing.

how well can you slip one of them 101s in your pocket,,, isnt this new ruger 22, going to be 30 oz.s a can of soda weighs, 12 oz.. so this new ruger, 22 is almost 2 LBs,,

Yep, my Colt is a full sized gun. I didn't buy it planning on sticking it in my pocket. If I had been looking for a gun to slip in my pocket, the Ruger wouldn't be it, either.

Soda can is 12 fluid ounces, not weight. That's 1.5 cups. But yea 16oz in a pound so roughly 2lb.

They are good revolvers. I have a few of them. Wish I had a couple more. In particular I would like to find a blue and nickel 4" 22 for my accumulation.

I do want to check out the new SP-101 22. Looking forward to it actually.

My point is that while they are both double action .22LR revolvers, the similarities end there. Not really the same thing, are they? About like saying, "man, I was thinking about buying a new vehicle and love my new sports car so much better than the truck I was looking at because it goes 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds". Which isn't really relevant if you need to pull a trailer.

It's still 3oz lighter than the Single Six I usually use, only 6oz more than a Bearcat.
