I was looking around at possible .30 Carbine wildcats. [For those who must know why: I have thought about buying a .30 Carbine, and all I could find on the net were people comparing them to either full power rifles or to hand guns. I have been looking at it in terms of PDW calibers like 6x35mm KAC, 5.7x28mm FN, 4.6x30mm HK... and this led me to the .22 Spitfire and .17 PeeWee, and that got me thinking about improved or wildcatted versions of the caliber.]

I came across the .19 Calhoon Badger. I really didn't know much about .19 caliber in general... so I commenced a side-quest. I skimmed Mr. Calhoon's site, and am a little intrigued by .19 caliber. What I can glean is that a .19 caliber is .198" bullet diameter, which makes the difference between .19 and .20 calibers about like the difference between .25 caliber and 6.5mm, or .270 caliber and 7mm. But the site also pointed out that rifling is cut from 50% deeper to twice as deep for .19 caliber than .20 caliber.

Does anybody have much experience with .19 caliber and .20 caliber? What do you think? Is there really much difference? Can one get .20 caliber barrels with slightly smaller bores and deeper rifling than normal? Anybody ever heard of wildcatting a .30 Carbine to something other than .22, .19, or .17 (.20 or 6mm caliber)?

Let me know what you guys think, what your experience has been, anecdotes, etc. I am almost completely ignorant of anything .19 caliber at this time, so all information is appreciated, especially first-hand experience shooting, cleaning, or loading for it.
