There are plenty of JM stamped marlins out there for the taking. if your patient, you will find exactly what you are looking for. EXcept for a JM SBL, OR ABL, might as well be a unicorn.
I have been on the hunt for a stainless 44 lever, and have come close, but just have not found the right one yet, but it will show up one day.
Marlin for the win. but i like my 94's as well, just not as much as my marlins.

I'm starting to steer away from fun guns and more towards shtf guns.

I keep a 44 magnum lever gun in the trunk of my car as a SHTF gun. The experience of Katrina suggests those evil black rifles will get snatched out of your hands by disaster enforcement types when maybe an innocent hunting rife will be left alone.

I have no idea if this is the reality of the situation, but sometimes appearances matter. And few guns look less like "assault weapons" to the uninformed than do all-American lever guns.
