Talk to me about the Sig P250

Yeh, there's a reason. Its called supply and demand and trying to (re)establish a market after the Gen 1. Kinda like my Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McGriddles shrinking a full 1/2" in diameter after the market for them took hold. Reduce the size/amount or increase the price after maket acceptance.

Nothing more.

right! the fact that they were ejected from the ATF/DEA trials for too many malfunctions has nothing to do with their quality!

nothing more ;)

I dont own a 45 in the P250 but do have the 2 sum. I enjoy shooting the sub compact 9mm so much I have yet to switch to the full size frame. You wont find a better D.A. trigger. It is as accurate as any other Sig and has been 110%. My next purchase is the 250 in .45, just can't decide between compact and the full size. When I do buy one, no FFL, no paper work, get it delivered to my front door-- nice. My only beef is one mag. For god sake Sig, FN includes 3

I'm really happy that you read that information on the internet but fail to understand how you missed all the follow-on information regarding Gen 1 vs. Gen 2.

Obviously a crack investigative online reader and not an owner.

the ATF trial was last year, which would make the p250's tested the most current gen. they're one of the few guns that have been confirmed by a federal government agency to be poo poo. sorry ;)

I'm going to chime in and cast a vote for the 250. I have two of them, one is carried by my significant other. Both compact 9mm's. No problems whatsoever with them except when I shoot cheap Russian lacquered ammo. Mine has over 3000 rds, and when not counting the handful of FTE's from the Monarch Steel and WPA ammo, it has been flawless. The trigger is something a DA revolver shooter can really appreciate, its smoooth. Long? Yes, I hear that constantly from people that only shoot singles. It's an acquired taste, but if you're into it, its one of the best DA semis out there. It may not have made the Fed cut, but when I choose to carry this Sig, I trust it with my life. Just my $.02

I looked around the net and can't find any information that it was a 1st or 2nd gen. Sig. p250. There is a lot of speculation it was 2nd gen. Anybody got any proof? wonder why they didnt use the 2022 ?

I was in my local Gander Mountain a few weeks ago picking up a $99 Marlin 795 for my youngest son, when a Subcompact SIG P250 .40 caught my eye. I already own three West German SIGs (P220, P225 and P226) so I thought I should look at the new polymer SIG. I picked it up and was really impressed with how well the pistol fit my hand. I had read about it's awful DA trigger, but as a guy who shoots his eight revolvers DAO...the trigger felt great!

I see Gander Mountain now has them on sale for $379 so there may be a fourth SIG in my collection.

You are touching on something that a lot of people have noticed. If you are a revolver guy, then the DAO pull on the P250 feels great. A lot of people compare the P250 trigger to a 1911 SA trigger when they should not. The two are fundamentally different, and are really not suitable for comparison. It's like comparing fudge brownies to key lime pie.

The P250 DAO is designed for those who will use the gun for home defense or concealed carry, and do not want a short pull trigger for a lot of good reasons.

I will agree with you about the smoothness of the P250's trigger pull. The more guns I try out, the more I appreciate how smooth it is!

Also, I think the P250 is ideal for women. The ergos are GREAT, and the slide is probably one of the easiest to rack that I've ever seen. A P250 9mm subcompact is in my wife's future, I can say that for sure.

find another hammer fired subcompact in its size that holds 13 rounds of +p ammo.

u can't.

IMO the 250 shines best in the subcompact as a CCW.

Beretta PX4 Storm sub-compact. It blows away the P250. Oh, it's also 13+1 instead of the P250's 12+1 ;)

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but, any chance you can provide a few facts to back this up? Since I'm in the market for a new CCW, I don't want to overlook a better firearm.

I'll admit the Beretta Px4 SC is a nice gun, but the ultimate decision is up to the individual. Honestly, any reputable manufacturer's gun will perform great (for the most part) so get what feels good in your hand. If you look at Glocks, XDs, M&Ps, P250s, SP2022s, PX4s, they'll all work just fine. I own every gun I just mentioned and I'd trust every one of them to save my life. I really don't have 1 absolute favorite gun (well, I'll admit the P229 is pure perfection), so I'd consider any of those guns for concealed carry.

One thing about the P250 which is either a pro or a con is its modularity. It's great you can convert it from a full size, compact or sub-compact but the kits to do so are expensive enough that it's probably cheaper to just buy another P250.
