Pick one:

I have been contemplating a browning HiPower for some time now, but for some reason I just have never taken the plunge. If I get one it will be blue in 9mm. It would be nice to have a fullsize 9mm, and it is a beautiful classic design.

I also realize that I only have one wheel gun, a 6’ blue Python (which is a shooter- no room in the safe for queens), so another 357 might be nice. My local guy has 2 stainless S&W686s in stock, one 4” and one 6”. I was thinking that the 4”would make a nice trail gun/ hunting back up.

So here we go. I have other guns in 9mm and 357, so caliber interchangeability is not a factor. I don’t think that I will be handgun hunting any time soon, so no edge there to the 686. I have my main side arms, my USP45 and 1911, so that takes the edge away from the HP.

Get both, right?

I can’t. I have only one permit left and it will take 2 months to get more (a great big, warm THANK YOU goes out to the Great state of New Jersey and its ridiculous laws) , and I’m working on a rifle project, so funds will be allocated to that for a while, so this is the last hand gun for a while.

So what do you guys think? Any thoughts or insight would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Fred

Make it a pre-lock 6" 686+. The N-frame is more rugged (full forcing cone) and 7 shots is nicer than 6.
