In 1988 I bought a small, 9mm pistol for home defense. It felt comfortable, was inexpensive (around $300) and I was assured, by the gun shop owner, whom I trusted, that it was a reliable firearm. I shot 100 rounds to check the sights, which were right on, and to establish that it worked as was expected. The pistol worked fine. Good deal.
It was/is a Model BTA-90, manufactured by Armi Fratelli Tanfoglio SPA and was distributed by EXCAM, Hialeah, FL.
My daughter-in-law kept the gun for a while, and somehow it got a bit rusty. Fortunately it was strictly cosmetic, and the internal parts and the bore were fine.
I took it out this morning, after not shooting it for at least a dozen years, and still works fine. I had forgotten how accurate it is. It actually makes for an ideal home-protection 9mm pistol as it is reliable, sufficiently accurate, and if we ever have to use it, and LE has to keep it for a while as evidence, it will not be a loss.
Does anyone have any idea of where I may be able to get a couple of magazines for this pistol? I have only the one that came with the gun, and at the time there were no extra mags in the store.
Thanks-
Alex
