can anyone me, with some certainty, what mags i can use with this pistol, and where i can acquire a couple? its a cz-75 clone, but with the slide mounted safety like a Beretta 92. i recently inherited one, and fell in love with it after shooting it.....but i only have one magazine, and i need to remedy that.

Check around. I suspect that most CZ or small-frame Tanfoglio and Witness mags will work. (Compact Tanfoglio mags are shorter than CZ compact mags.) Some local gun shops might let you try mags (if they have them) to see if they fit and lock back the slide. Or just take your mag with you and compare them. Follower, mag release notch, and length are the key points to check.

I remember that some Tanfoglio mags had a different follower, but followers can be replaced.

I think it's TA90, but CZ-75's should fit, they fit this gun in my avatar and another newer one just fine.

If the DA 90 is a standard CZ-pattern gun, almost any CZ-like gun's mag will work. (The only exceptions are with some compact models, with the Tanfoglio-based versions being shorter mags than the CZ compacts.) I've used Magnum Research factory, Tanfoglio factory, various aftermarket mags without problems in both CZs and Witness (Tanfoglio) weapons. Take your gun to a gun shop (or gun show) and see if the standard CZ mags work/fit/lock back the slide. If they do, you're good to go.

yes, my mistake, it is a TA-90. i took it to the local shop, and no, neither current tanfoglio nor cz-75 mags fit. this is an early model according to the shop i took it to. whats really annoying is the one magazine i do have a is a california compliant 10 rounder. seems kind of silly t have such reduced capacity in a pistol thats already fairly heavy....if i'm carrying that hunk of steel, which i very well may as much as i love it so far, i'd like to have it at its full capability.

as for the babyeagle mags...thats definitely something i'll look into, as at first glance they appear VERY similiar.

TA-90 is a typical older Tanfoglio production pistol. Magazines made for the TA-97, TZ-75, Springfield P-9 or old EAA Witness, (before the small/large frame change), pistols should work. Older CZ-75 magazines should work, along with Baby Eagle and Jericho 941 mags, as every make and model I have mentioned, with the exception of the CZ, are all the same gun.

You run into similar problems with newer-production mags for any of the CZ-pattern guns (including CZ-75s [not 75Bs]) when you try to use the newer mags in the original CZ style guns. The TA-90 was certainly much closer to the CZ-75 than the later Tanfoglio-versions. Any of the older guns, however, can be simply modified to accept the newer mags, by opening up the mag well slightly, mostly at the top, and sometimes at the bottom -- with a flat file. None* of the current production or Mec-Gar mags work in an original CZ-75.

*None that I've found or tried, to be more precise.
