Tanfoglio Witness Match

mm6mm6: Thanks, that was exactly what I wanted to see. As promised above, I do in fact appreciate it. :)

I've been interested in the witness match for awhile. I wasn't aware of the newer railed models before this thread however, and it does make the gun even more appealing to me. For some time now my plan for my next buy has been a CZ SP-01. Problem is that due to financial setbacks, and the state of the economy in general I suppose, the year of 2009 saw me selling a few guns and certainly not buying. I knew also that I wanted to convert said imaginary future SP-01 to an SAO config. Which of course meant, even though I could do the installation work myself, I'd have to sink even more money into it.
The point of all this is that it now seems to me that with the witness match already having the trigger features I want, and now with the inclusion of the accessory rail, that I can have everything I want in a modified CZ at a price point possibly slightly below what the CZ base gun would have cost.
Thanks for your write up, and again for filling my pic request.

Glad to help and I am on your same wave length as to your reasoning.

I really think the Witness and the Match especially are amazingly fantastic guns for the price. Bang for the buck if you will.

Many of us can get fixated on the "numbers" (like trigger pull weight, overal gun weight, blah blah blah), but how it shoots is the real test.

This gun doesn't jam, doesn't misfire, and it hits the center right out of the (rather nice) box. The groups are tight too. Not much more to ask for!

I had been thinking and researching 1911s real hard, but decided to get the Witness Match instead. I believe they are successful in competition here and in Europe. In my research I've also run across more than one person who said the Witness outperformed their much more expensive 1911s. I've never owned a 1911, but my Witness out shoots all my other nines, at least in my hands.

You guys are killing me. I've been trying for weeks to talk myself out of a Witness in 10mm. I have a feeling that as soon as I see one in a local shop my willpower will break and it will come home with me.

techmike: You're killing ME! My Witness is in .22, 9mm, .38 Super, and .40 calibers. I do not need a .45, I have too many .45's already!

But I do not have a 10mm. I do not need a 10mm. I need a 10mm like a hole in the head...from a 10mm!

But I want a 10mm! Every since the Dornhaus & Dixon Bren Ten was carried and shot by Don Johnson as Sonny Crocket in Miami Vice, I've wanted one. There's no way I would try to afford a real Bren Ten, let alone shoot one (of course some would even say they still don't shoot!) if I could even get one.

But the Witness in 10mm is truly a fully functional version of the Bren Ten.

Man, I could let my stubble grow for three days, put on my Ray Ban Wayfarers, my white sport coat, salmon colored shirt, and my Jackass shoulder rig....

I see that you totally understand my case of 10mm Witness gun lust. I wonder of there is a support group?

I have several Witnesses in 10mm. Also all the other calibers offered by Tanfoglio, plus a couple that they don't offer. It's one of the most versatile handgun formats on the market.

Hope this helps.

My wife was reading this thread over my shoulder. She and I both shoot 10mm. She commandeered my Elite Match at the first range outing with it.

Her comment?

"What does he mean he doesn't need a 10mm? Everyone needs a 10mm! They must have small hands if they don't want a 10mm."

I love my wife.
