Ok, here's the trouble. I've got a Marlin 1895CB, .45-70. The present rear sight is a Marbles tang unit. This works fairly well, except for one thing. There are no markings on it. Unless you count the turns or something, there's no easily repeatable way to change sight settings.

Anyhow, what other sights are there that fit on Marlins? The only one I'm aware of is the Lyman No. 2. Is it marked at all?

Also, I've seen the Advance Engineering Vernier, as well as similar things called Soule sights from Davide Pedersoli. Would these fit? Or would they be overkill for a levergun?

Man, how do you get your sight to stay together long enough to shoot it? I've got the exact same set up and everytime I fire a few rounds, the sight falls apart. Not sure which one it is, Marble or Lyman, but it doesn't have any markings. It was on the gun when I got it.

Looking for tang sights, because the rules for SASS long range don't permit receiver sights, and that's my primary use for the gun.
