Loaded them all up and ran them through the Rommie M-44. I can say that I am a LOT better now than when I first stuffed one in. The clips are pretty consistant but there are looser and tighter ones. The looser ones definately load easier.
Biggest hurdle to overcome loading is the ejector spring. Mine is pretty tight and probably needs looked at to make sure it is clean and maybe, just maybe, it could be lightened a tad....which would ease the stripper stuffing greatly.
Member Cosmolines' tip about lifting the nose of the top round to push the rest in is a keeper!
And, I tried loading the rims _-_-_ and was able to, but they are SO slim they don't want to stay in position in the clips. Much different than the Brit 303. So, it is improbable that any combat troops had control of the rim position during loading.
My rifle didn't miss a beat with any of the magazine loads...regardless of rim orientation. All fed smoothly and ejected positively.
I really like this rifle! Now, I just need to shop for a sling.
