tapco sks 20rnd mag problems

I have a yugo sks with a tapco mag it functions great with wolf laquered case fmj but failes to load norinco steel case fmj or silver bear sp ammo without jamming.:banghead: Is anyone else having these problems?

Yes, other Tapco owners.

The increase in capacity is usually not worth the decrease in reliability that extended capacity mags bring with the SKS.

I'd only run the OEM mag for that reason on any SKS I depend on. BSW

I bought a Chinese 20 round fixed mag when SKS' first started arriving. The dealer I got the gun from ($200 with a case of ammo, OTD) didn't carry and would not sell them: he said they were unreliable. His comment was "look, if they worked I'd sell them and make money -- they don't, I won't and I'm not." I tried one anyway and still have it in, but, he was probably correct.

I've not tried the tapco, but every other non original mag in my sks has not been 100%. I did have one modified steel mag that worked very well but was not as reliable as the factory box magazine.

All 3 of My tapco 20 rounders work flawlessly with all the 7.62X39 ammo I loaded into them. Must have run 400-500 rounds threw My Tapco Bubbaed Sino-Soviet with no issues except the handguard geting warm under rapid fire conditions. WVleo

All three of my Tapco mags work flawlessly with all of the ammo you have stated above. I prefer Silver Bear when I can find it.
