Whaddayathink?

Would it be worthwhile to have adjustable target sights installed on a CZ-52?

Obviously, this would be a custom job, but shouldn't be too hard to do should it?

Brian, is that your gun? If so did you notice a big improvement with those sights?

I've looked at Makarov.com's gunsmith page before, but didn't notice anything about the installation of the front sight.

Mine, and yes I noticed a big improvement.

I see you have one of the Federal after market barrels. Is it more accurate than one the gun came with? I hear the stock barrels can very quite a bit in condition and size.

If I want a louder blast and bigger fireball, I put on the ported barrel but I actually like the looks of the gun without it.

I swap between barrels and have not really noticed a difference. However, I have not benchrested either and have only shot offhand - so I am the limiting factor in telling which is more accurate. With the new sights, I can hit further out and get on target quicker.

Good lookin' CZ steelhead!

What kind of finish are you using? I like the dual tone.

Does that porting help to reduce the muzzle flip or is it purely cosmetic?

The finish was done by Mac's Shootin Iron Restorations. The colors are OD and black with contrasting hammer, extractor, etc..

The ports are functional and do reduce muzzle flip but sound and pyrotechnics are also enhanced. I also installed one of the competition firing pins and that did a lot for the trigger pull. I think it was the #2 firing pin kit at Makarov.com.

Yes, Makarov.com did the sights and then I sent it to Mac's for the finishing job. Makarov.com actually did the front sight twice because the first one flew off into the distance after 150 rounds. The second one has stayed tight and no further problems.

Thanks steelhead. Very cool. I think I might do one of mine like that. I've got some gray and black Gunkote and have some ideas for the grips.

It looks like Makarov.com is backed up with gunsmith work though. I wonder if a gunsmith could cut dovetails for some 1911 front and rear adjustable target sights?
