Hello,

I just asked if a better trigger makes up for a one inch increase in barrel (ie, PPQ 4" vs G34 5"). Now I am curious, if you had only $100 to spend towards accuracy, would you put that towards a 5" model or target sights on a 4" model (ie, PPQ 5" vs PPQ 4" with sights, or G34 vs G19 with sights)--all else being equal.

Please, I have all the ammunition I need. Don't say 100 towards that.

Thanks!

With good sights, I can shoot my 3" pistols as well as 5" pistols.
I'd opt for upgrade sights, instead of longer barrels.

sights over barrel length. my sig ultra (3.3) has a tighter sight picture than my full size SR1911, and it shoots every bit as tight. sometimes better.

The advantage of a longer sight radius is merely one of being able to more finely align two objects. So if your sights are lousy to start with, adding an inch of sight radius is still not buying you much.

Good sights are better than bad sights, regardless of sight radius.

Longer sight radius means something when you have good sights. Putting mediocre sights another inch apart is kinda like putting Pirelli tires on a Yugo. Still no competition for a Corvette with Goodyears.

Barrel length is not a big deal but sight radius is.

I'd vote for the sight radius now and you can upgrade the sights later and then you have the best combo.
Getting better sights now on a shorter barrel obviously means you can't upgrade the sight radius with out selling and starting again.

Distinguishing between a longer barrel vs a longer sight picture is a bit technical:) I said a PPQ 5" and G34, both have increased barrels and sight pictures :D
