24/7 Review

I purchased my 24/7 almost a year ago. Let me say I have the full size version in 40. I carry it concealed on my hip or back depending on what i'm wearing. I have fired over 1k rnds through the gun and really love the way it feels and fires. My one and only complaint are the sights it took several boxes of ammo to readjust my point of aim. I grew up shooting 1911's and 92f's in the army.

With all that being said I have to admit the following;
During a recent outing to the range my taurus went kaboom while my wife was shooting it. The frame failed just below the slide under the trigger finger. My wife only had some minor powder burns on her hand and firing finger. I gathered the pieces I could find and took them to my local gun store where the weapon was purchased. They promptly boxed it and returned it to taurus for me. They repaired the gun and sent it back to me in less than 30 days.

I still have the utmost faith in the weapon as it has never failed to fire when the trigger was pulled. Some of the people complaining about the horrible trigger pull, this can be corrected by simply learning to feather the trigger when shooting it.

How can you have faith in something that blew up in your wife's hands? Unless you were shooting reloads then I'd say there was something wrong with the gun. 1,000 rounds isn't enough to dub it 100% flawless in my opinion.

I have the Taurus 24/7 PT Pro Compact 9mm and have never had a ftf or fte. The ONLY problem I've had with it in almost 3000 rounds was just last week. A couple of the casings ejected back just over my head instead of to the right. It's been an extremely dependable pistol even when I fired different rounds from the same mag , but I don't think this particular model is still manufactured in the 9mm. And no....I would NEVER carry a chambered round with the safety off in this pistol. And it will also fire a chambered round with the mag removed.

I have a MP PT145 in blue, and its got to be my favorite pistol currently owned. Buddy of mine has the 24/7 in SS as his ccw (9mm) and he is just as pleased with his as i am with mine. Both are excellent, dependable weapons, and i can place shots in my pt145 in 4 inch groups or better at 10-15 yards away. I'm sure there have been a few on the 24/7 and MP side that have been dysfunctional, but what weapon maker has a perfect record? considering Taurus' history, i'd say they deserve some kind of improvement award after coming out with these semi-autos and look forward to owning more of them :)

I own a 24/7 OSS DS in 9mm. It is a nice pistol. One of the reasons I bought it is the fact that it fits my hand perfectly. It is pretty much the same size as a standard 1911. There is nothing wrong with the trigger either. It is not gritty or rough and not too heavy either. I have never had any problem of any kind with it. I haven't kept a round count but it has been several hundred.

Would I recommend one to a friend? Definately yes.

My son has a 24/7 OSS Pro that has been so far a great gun. Only downside that I know for sure is that it did fire out of battery and blew out a case. No damage because the blow out was toward the ejection port. It could have been a KB though.

i had a 24/7 pro ds in 45 acp. it was a very reliable gun. i liked everything about it.....except the recoil on mine was very snappy and had my wrist aching by the 3rd or 4th magazine when i took it to the range.
