I just bought a Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol with a 4 inch barell, 17 round mag, in 9mm. Bought it on Sunday and am waiting to go pick it up (don't have concealed carry just yet).

Any comments, thoughts or advice on what to expect? Or criticism.

Mine has well over 1000 rounds and probably 2000 without a problem. It is a .40 S&W not a 9mm but still. The only problem that I have with it is all the dead trigger take up. (not sure if that is the right term but you'll see after you get it) Good choice I would say based on my experiences.

Mine lasted one range trip and 100 rounds before the DA trigger would no longer reset. Taurus had it for 10 weeks before I finally got it back. It's working well now, but my confidence level is very low at this point. When you get a good Taurus, it's a very good gun but they tend to make their share of lemons as well. I hope you have better luck with yours...

I've had one for over a year and 1000 rounds. I occasionally get light strikes on my reloads that use CCI primers. The rounds will fire in my Glock. However, I have never had problems with factory ammo. I shoot low and left with mine.

It is, by far, the most comfortable handgun I currently own and the slide is easy to rack. I'd buy another.

Yours is DAO 24/7, not DA/SA 24/7pro?

I had a 24/7pro for awhile, so many good things to say about this design, especially the ergonomics which were unbeatable. Unfortunately it was wildly inaccurate, by far the most inaccurate gun I've ever used, and a trip to Taurus didn't fix it, so I ended up selling it.

Don't let me discourage you though, many of the guns that Taurus ships work fine, some on these forums have had good luck with them.

Mine has been excellent. About 4500 rounds through it, and it's still going strong. Accurate as heck, too.

The ribber grips are starting to decompose after too much CCW, though.

I bought one about two weeks ago at a gun show and finally got to shoot it last Friday. My son and I put around 200 rounds through it with no problems. We both liked the way it shoots and it was pretty accurate for us. I know what Rancid means about the trigger takeup, but all in all I am very pleased so far.
