Taurus .38/.357 7-shot frames?

I know S&W uses L-frames for their 7-shooters; but, after looking at a Taurus (non-Tracker) 7-shooter, it looks smaller than the S&W version.

Is the Taurus 7-shooter frame closer to a K-frame or a L-frame?

And has anyone had any experience with these guns? How much of a difference in carry and shooting does that extra chamber make?

I have a Taurus Total Titanium 7-shot snubnosed .357 magnum revolver (model 617Ti, IIRC). I have not taken any precise measurements, but it seems very close in size to my snubnosed S&W model 66 K-frame revolver. FWIW, I also have the 5-shot version of the same Taurus revolver chambered in .45 Colt.
