I want to use my .44 to hunt deer in Ohio at distances that rarely are over 100 yards. I want to put a scope or red dot on it. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. I am leaning toward Taurus' scope mount because I don't want to drill holes in the top. Thanks alot..

you kind of answered your question here. taurus scope mount i think works with any kind of rings you would need for scope or laser. May not be able to use a laser, so check the states dnr regulations.

and practice at those ranges you think youll be shooting animals at. Some say if you cant shoot paper plates at your desired hunting range, you cant hunt at that range on a real animal.

I agree. I've installed a couple of scopes on Raging Bulls (.454's) using the Taurus mount. It is easily installed, very secure, and requires no holes as it clamps to the vent rib. It accepts Weaver style rings so rings for most any scope can easily be obtained.

Thanks for the advice. One more thing though. Anyone the model number for the taurus raging bull .44 mount. My gun was bought last September. There are several, some are 3 screws and some are 2.

I don't know the model #'s, but as I recall it goes by barrel length.

One model for 6.5" and one for 8 3/8" or longer and your choice of blue or stainless. The shorter has 2 clamps (4 screws) and the longer has 3 clamps (6 screws).
