I like mine
I could see that when loaded with shotshells and aimed at the upper torso/head area that you could blind an assailant long enough to escape. The advantage is that at point blank range it would leave a nasty wound and the risk to people downrange is miminal. However, the shotshell might not stop a bad guy. A good 45 colt hollowpoint silvertip/gold dot leaves a rather devasting wound. I bet even the 410 slug ammo would be impressive, except for that on other threads they say it comes apart rather easily. This could be a good thing again if you worry about overpenetration.
I have the 6.5 inch model and I bought it for hunting and I absolutely love it. At 45 feet shooting offhand with 45 cowboy loads you could cover the group with the bottom of a coke can. At the same distance, the grouping of Remingtion sluggers was just about an inch and a half larger. With buckshot, the groups at 10' made it all in the torso area of the standard b-27 target. The pattern varied from triangle groups to vertical stringers. At car jacking distance, the bad guy should say his prayers. Other posts discount the buckshot load and its penetration capabilities, but it will leave 3 holes each time you fire. I know I don't want 3 pieces of .36 caliber invading my personal space.
With this type of versatility I am seriously considering getting the shorter barreled version as well. I just wonder how the shorter barrel is with velocity. I can bet a handloader who specializes in shotgun shells could come up with quite a variety of loads for this thing though. Plus, this thing is fun. I showed some shooting buddies at the department this gun and when I cleared the cylinder of the 410 slugs it opened some eyes.
I know, long winded but that is my input from the experience I have.
