Just bought the Taurus 738 and having trouble hitting the target. I was so bad, out of 50 shots I hit the paper 8 times. I am not use to having to pull the trigger to cock the hammer. I have a Taurus 1911 and have no problem hitting the target. Any advice or direction would be of help

You need alot more trigger time. All my shots are on a 10" circle at 25' with my TCP. Get a snap cap and dry fire.

At what range?

You are probably just not used to the trigger. The trigger on guns like that is way heavier than the gun itself so it makes it difficult not to pull it off target. I suggest getting some snap caps and doing some dry practice to learn the trigger pull.

These tiny guns are harder to shoot. I can land head shots easily at 25 yards with my Glock 17, but with my ruger lcp I'm lucky if I can keep them all on paper at that range.

When I first bought mine, I shot 100 rounds at a full size man target and they were on the head and torso. It is an accurate gun for 10 to 15 yards. You need a lot of trigger time and pratice.

Bring the target in to a closer distance until you can keep all shots on the paper. Right now you have no idea where the shots are going. At a distance that you can keep them on the paper, you'll be able to see if the shots are going all over the place or if the misses are in a consistent area. As the others have pointed out, some dry firing will help with learning the trigger.
