Taurus Class Action Lawsuit

Huh? That is not true. Maybe there are no .45ACP options yet but you can trade it for the G2 9mm or .40S&W. I've also heard (not verified) that the 24/7 line is available for trade. That includes a .45ACP.
Here is the wording from the settlement site"
  • Certain calibers of the Class Pistol models are not available in Taurus G2 model pistols. You can review the calibers currently available in Taurus G2 model pistols at http://www.taurususa.com/pistols.cfm.
Taurus site info:
PT24/7 G2 45ACP COMP DA/SA DS 3.5' 12 & 10+1 BL

As i read it, the 24/7 is a G2 pistol.

I don't know what you are claiming but you don't seem to know the facts.

Listen man if i wanted a 9 or 40 I'd buy one. But i bought a 45 for a reason, and you can either guess or you know if the 24/7 is a replacement option, which it's not (but but but you heard it and not verified right?)

I know because i called Taurus for the last 12 months. I know because they could not actually guarantee my gun returned. I know because i climbed the ladder speaking to Supervisors. I know because i was offered 150 dollars (i had 400 in the gun and magazines so bad deal for me). And i know you obviously want to jibberjabber about nothing you have experience with. I owned one, i had to deal with Taurus, I'd never buy another after the crap they pulled.

It was a giant spit in the face from a company i vouched for. My xd mod 2 in 45 is tripple the quality and much better customer service.

And as ive said before in other posts that because the pt145 is discontinued Taurus has no replacement option. They will only pay a max of 150 to buy back the gun.

I reposted your post again so you can see what you wrote. You said Taurus had no replacement option, just a $150 buy back. So, since you DID NOT SAY there was no .45ACP option your post was wrong. They DO have replacement options. Plain and simple.

Don't go off on me for your misinformation. I also own a PT145 so your assumption that I want to jibberjabber about something I am not familiar with is also misinformation on your part. You are batting 1.000 on this. Wrong on all accounts. Quit while you are behind.

Oh totally sorry you misunderstood my post so let me say it again. There is no replacement option for the pt145. If you want a totally different caliber then great! (and because larryh says that makes everything better!) Buy a Taurus and you can end up downsizing! Good company motto.

Ok now I'm sure you want to keep trolling.....

Just ran across this the other day - there is a class action lawsuit against Taurus covering:
PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT-138 Millennium; PT-140 Millennium; PT-145 Millennium; PT-745 Millennium; PT- 609; PT-640; and PT-24/7 pistols (including the “PRO” series of each of these models). The settlement does not include Taurus G2 model pistols.
https://www.tauruscartersettlement.com/

That's about right - I took a chance and bought a Gen. 2 PT145 Millennium PRO back before everyone else started shrinking their guns (10+1 rounds of 45 in a small, good feeling gun was hard to pass up).
I knew I was taking a chance and got burned - has been to the range exactly one time, and when I couldn't figure out where the heck the rounds were going, it became a safe queen (no way I'd CC since I don't know where the rounds were going).

Since there's no fix for the "defect", it looks like the best I can do is get $200 for the gun (paid $310 for it) and I also bought 2 additional magazines.
I can exchange it for one of their Millennium G2 models, but I really have no need for it these days as there are now a lot of downsized larger caliber guns, and the G2 apparently takes different magazines, so what the heck do I do with the two extra magazines I bought?

Still trying to figure out what route I'm going on this one.

Take the sights off and try it. That tightened the groups up on my PT 145 to CCW acceptablilty. I don't know if the sights are for a longer gun (like the full size 24/7) or what, but I was hitting a consistent 6" low at 7 yds. Nice tight groups, and I know I wasn't pulling the bore down, I've shot enough long mushy triggers to be able to shoot well with them. I took the sights off, and just look down the slide, Wouldn't want to try 50 yards that way, but for CCW work, it hits where I need it to.

For what it is worth: I have checked this issue on two PT-145s. The older one had the trigger/safety issue, the newer one did not. If that is the only issue these guns have (as in, if the reported drop issue is a side effect of the trigger/safety issue) someone who wanted a PT-145 could probably find a "good" one on the used market.

I have very mixed thoughts on the 145. On paper it is great. In practice I can understand why it was discontinued.

This is the key question I'm trying to get answered. If the safety has to be in the "unsafely ON" position with the trigger forward for it to discharge when dropped, to me its not a show-stopper as I know about the issue and how to avoid it. However, if it can discharge when dropped with the safety on or off I want to get rid of it!

My only pistol is a PT-140 Special Edition that I bought several years ago. One issue I had was a jam with my handloads and my own cast bullets. Figured it out and never any issues since and I've carried it a lot.

I picked up the PT111 G2 on sale for $189 a year or so ago and to be quite honest, I really like the gun. Was interested in the PT145 series in the past but after the issues they had I passed. I was intrigued when I seen the sale price and am glad I purchased it. If I was you I'd trade it for the G2 and give it a try. You can always sell if you don't like it but it's better than having a lead weight in your gun safe.
