OK guys...and gals,

Are the Taurus 85, 850, 851 the same shape and size as the s & w j frames?
Also, has anybody tried out the KL Null shoulder holsters?
I would like something I can keep on me when I ride the motorcycle.

I emailed Ken Null and just waiting on a reply and thought about asking you guys.

Thanks

I compared my titanium Taurus 850 CIA to a S&W 642, couldn't tell any difference. If there is one, it is very slight.

850 and 85

I talked to Ken Null and he said that they were slightly different.
Do you know if the 850 is identical to the 85?

I went to cheaper than dirt and found out that they are the same size for holsters.
I just need a holster that holds onto the gun and not the hammer.
I tried a Don Hume hoolster for a j frame and the taurus fit like a glove.

??

I don't know.
I have not compared that part, just the frames for holsters.

No, the S&W J frame grips will not fit a small (85 etc) Taurus frame revolver out of the box. But, they are close enought that you can make them fit with some manual work - if you want to bother.

Getting back to the original question. The barrel and underlug are slightly different on the two brands and it appears to be an evolving process - my older Tauri as well as my S&W's are/were different than my newer ones.

The rest of the frame is VERY similar.

it is a matter of how tight the holsters are molded to the gun it is designed for. i had a blade-tec IWB for my 642 that i never use and tried to help out a friend who had just gotteen a 850. no go, i think the hang up was the wider top rib on the 850's barrel

I talket to Ken and he helped me pick the sks and he suggested I not go with the city slicker.
He said he personally uses the sks and that it hooks on the end of the trigger guard.
I will post up my thoughts after it arrives.
Thanks guys
