Last Fall I bought a Taurus J frame 357 model 605 but only shoot 38s. It would shoot left even from a solid bench rest. Upon closer examination I found the bore was drilled crooked with the muzzle having way more wall on the right side looking over the barrel with the left side being thinned walled. I saw this on a long barreled Mosin Nagant once and have heard its not too uncommon but how can you screw up the drilling process on such a short barrel such as the J frame? And I am talking 10 inches to the left at 25 yards.

Something like that can't and couldn't be user related. Send it back to them. They should make it right.

Your only option is to contact Taurus customer support,,,
If you bought the gun last fall you should do it in a hurry.

Taurus will not always pay for shipping to the repair center after one year from the date of purchase.

Now for the obligatory Taurus rant. :p

This is the reason you should never buy a Taurus sight unseen,,,
What I mean by that is you need to inspect each individual Taurus before you plunk down your cash.

Taurus does have some very well designed pistols,,,
It's the quality control from their factory that sucks big time.

When the TX 22 first came out I went on a search,,,
Three different gun stores and five guns later,,,
I didn't find one that had a good barrel.

In five different guns I found very obvious chatter in the rifling and severely misaligned chambers.

I own a few Taurus handguns and I like them all,,,
But I got lucky because I ordered them on-line through budsgunshop.com.

I may buy a Taurus in the future,,,
But it will be after I check the gun out very carefully.

Thanks for the information, I will contact them today by phone and get this fixed. I was told I could send it back but just didn't want to pay $50 for shipping.

That can be adjusted with a hammer!

Just get a big vice, clamp your trigger finger in it....one good smack on the tip, to the right, should correct it.

Sorry. Old gunsmith humor.....
