The Millenium Pro is a bit longer and taller, plus it's got a trigger block the Millenium doesn't have. From the pictures, the additional height seems to come from taller sights.

Looks like the biggest difference between the two series is the trigger block, and that also applies to the other pistols in the series as well.

Anybody know if there's any other substantive difference?

If you get a pro, I would love to know what you think of it. I had a 9mm Millenium and absolutely loved it. Never failed thru 1000or so rnds. I sold it in a moment of weakness to buy something else. But, I really miss it. The Pro's look really good.
Someone told me the Pro's have a revamped trigger. Much smoother than the Milleniums's. I liked my after about 500rnds, but a smooth double action would really be great. Anyway let us know if you pick one up.

The Millenium PT-145 frame (polymer grip, actually) problems were cured in guns made from September, 2001, and later. I can't imagine it appearing in the Millenium Pro guns since the "fix" was beefing up the grip and maybe a reformulated polymer.

Okay, now after the Camo Nova this spring, it's a toss-up between one of these Pros in stainless and the new Kel-Tec P3AT in hard chrome. Both should be equally hard to find.

I called Taurus last week to inquire about when the Millenium Pro would be available. All I was able to do was leave a message. They have yet to get back in touch with me. I believe the 9mm is out, but I am interested in the .45. Anyone know when they might hit the market? I need to buy a gun NOW- the cash is burning a hole in my pocket.

I saw the 111 Pro at a show over the weekend. Looks like they redesigned the frame to match the current PT-145 frames. So much the better. Don't hold your breath on the release of the .45 Pro. I'm somewhat less patient than you are. I'll be picking up a PT145 in the next couple of weeks (I plan to shoot the hell out of it and see what happens).

The Millenium Pro does indeed seem to be an improved model.

The older Millenium pistols really do have a bad trigger. Very long and very heavy.

I haven't had a chance to try the newer ones but I've heard from many people now that the new 9mms have vastly improved triggers, and I'd expect the same from the .45s.

The 9mms are now out. The .45s won't be until late summer.

I was previously very interested in the PT145 until I recently started hearing story after story about ATROCIOUS Taurus customer service. One guy had the problem where a piece of the polymer frame just breaks off on a shot and he had big problems working it out with Taurus. The frame problems were also an issue with me but blackhawk says that's fixed. Still though the customer service thing turns me off.

Also, if I remember correctly, the slide lock and take down lever(?) are much smaller and more rounded on the Pro model.

I have the milennium pt-145 built in late 2002, and the trigger is very smooth and light. It is deep, but I like that with the DAO. It was a little gritty at first, but with some love and some CLP, it smoothed out nicely

I've put the PT-1XX series on a 2-year probation in my 'wants' list after that series of frame failures early last year.


It's nearing the end of that timetable. So if no other issues crop up, I'm going to place that Mil Pro high in my list...


About first quarter '04 would be just about right

Had outstanding response from Tuarus on the replacement of my cracked frame on the PT145 I carry.

Wouldn't call it a frame "failure" as the weapon didn't fail, nor did the frame. It developed a crack. Simple as that. Kept on going, just decided the time was right to send it in for fix'n.

Wouldn't call the trigger on mine anywhere near smooth but I just don't care. I slam-away till lock back @ 7 yards and that is all I ask of it.

Can't really complain after about 2,000 rounds. But got the bug for the PRO.

Four weeks. Lost a couple of work days as I shipped it over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

They acknowledged receipt of the gun and sent tracking numbers when they shipped it back.
