I need some help. I have a 1988 Taurus model 66 blue with a three inch barrel. I've had the gun approximately 12 years which for the most part it has been in the safe. Anyway I decided to clean it and shoot it. I took the side plate off to inspect the springs, trigger etc and to relube. Everything went fine with disassembly. The side plate came off with out any prying but now the fun begins. Trying to get the side plate back on. The problem I am having is the plate will not fit flush to the gun, it is teeter tottering on the cylinder rotating device. Is there a trick or a secret to reinstalling the side plate?
