I own 2 revolvers, a .44 mag tracker and a 357 mag 85. I like both and have absolutly no complaints. I don't have very many rounds through either but so far so good. The fit and finish is not as good as my S&W revolvers but the cost is considerably less and the reliability seems as good to me.

I own a model 85 and its been good for the two years I've owned it, its an accurate little gun. I also own a taurus pump .22 rifle it has also been flawless.

I had a PT-145, not 100 percent.

PT1911SS so far so good. It's been the best 1911 I've owned as far as feeding EVERY type of round. The only other pistol(1911) I've had which NEVER hiccup'd was my former Springfield bare bones 1911.

About 4 good'uns........

I've had two Taurus, mod. 85's bought separately years ago.
I had friends talk me into selling each of them, one of my 85's.
I also had that happen with a nice little Makarov.

Presently I have an old stainless Taurus mod. 450, 2" ported snub, in .45 Colt.
It's a good truck gun.I load it with Cowboy loads, for practice, or
Win. Silvertips for carry. It shoots every time.

I recently bought a little stainless Taurus mod. 94, 4", in .22lr.
It's upstairs in my desk. I've only shot a couple hundrted rounds through it.
I've had all good luck with my several Taurus revolvers.
I'd buy another, anytime.:)

Wish I never sold my .357 Tracker it was a great shooter, very accurate. I will never sell my PT1911. Never had any problems with either pistol.

I have a pt 92 and a pt 1911 Like em both

I have had the pt92 for awhile and shot the snot out of it. Turkey day we were shooting and the locking block broke a ear off. Couple thousand rounds. Called Taurus and he said to send the old lock in and will send me a new one.

I understand this is an ongoing thing with the pt92 and the Beretta 92F. Design problem.

Love to shoot the thing.Accurate and fun

I have had a total of 9 Taurus firearms without any problems. I would buy more if I needed another gun and they had a new model that I wanted. I have an increasing interest in the new Judge. I would like to shoot one before buying one.

have a 24/7 .45, its my every day carry gun.

also have a rossi .38 snubbie and had a .357 6in before that. Both Sweet!

Good guns... i want a mil pro as soon as i can afford one.

gun4funtime,

LOL the guy who bought 7 before he decided he did not like them??

What can I say, the features and styling and price induced me to go, what's one more?

Come on, some one convinced him he did not like them or he would have never owned 7.

I am a slow learner at times. No one "convinced" me that my Taurus firearms had problems. They showed themselves soon enough in all their glory. Why did I own 7? Because Taurus often has chamberings or features that other manufacturers don't offer and I thought it would be a good choice.

He has never told what his problems were, he and several other "never buy a taurus" guys??? why??

Do a search on my postings and you will see differently. I am just tired of repeating the problems I have had with them.

I have owned quite a few and never had a problem with them. I have found them to be a great bargain for a very good firearm. I think some people think they are not as good, because they cost less. Not so, just a great deal.

I am glad you have had a positive experience with them. I just wish mine were alright.

Currently I own 8 different Taurus guns and have not had any problems with them. I broke the rear sight on my PT-92 but that one was my fault, so that wouldn't qualify.

Taurus 606 (6 shot 357 snub nose, ported) never had a problem and I have put alot of rounds thru it.

Near 1,000 rounds through my PT745, trouble free.

Friend has a Taurus/Rossi .357 that hasn't given him trouble, but he seldom shoots or carries it. He's the kind of guy who just buys guns to buy guns...some of his have no use to him other than to just "have"...his .357 falls in that category.

Consider the sample size...not exactly scientific. Funny part about it is that since they're cheap then they're 'junk' when they don't work. If a pricey 1911 doesn't work it's because it needs "breaking in".

Only gun I've had fail was twice as expensive as my Taurus...and made by a big company that starts with "B". Only gun made by them that I own...100% failure rate. ;)

I had a M65 but sold it to fund another gun. Never shot it but it felt like an OK gun for the money. Decent bluing on it, that's for sure.

Salt,
Like your sample size is scientifically based!!

Twas the point of the winking smiley face...pointing out the humor in basing the quality level of a company that has been selling firearms in the US under various owners since 1968 on a sample of ~200 guns seems a little ludicrous, just it would be ludicrous for me to never buy another Beretta based on my experience with their product. (At least one stovepipe in every magazine, two springs broke inside of the gun, one with just under 500 rounds through it.) I didn't like that particular gun, but if I could afford another Beretta, you'd better believe I'd give it a shot (pun intended).

No harm intended, I'm just saying I like to try things for myself...others may like to base their decisions on what folks on the interweb think. To each their own.

Sample size is exactly what we're dealing with when a person tells us that they've bought seven Taurus guns, and that all of them had problems. To listen to these people, they state that you cannot buy a Taurus without problems. Yet, their opinion, masquerading often as fact, is that the Brand is bad.

The simple fact that there ARE so many Taurus weapons in service with owners in America today should give lie to the claims of terrible performance. However, the size of any sample that doesn't agree with them is denigrated, they KNOW, and that's ALL that matters. We don't need any stinking statistics, or numbers. Why ruin a great rant with the truth?

I had a .17HMR Snubnose Taurus wheel gun. It held 8 rounds. After firing all eight rounds, 2 shells would be normal looking, 5 would be deformed, and 1 would be cracked. I tried CCI, Winchester, Remington, and Hornady.

What a horrible gun. And the customer service where I bought it, horrible as well. He wouldn't take care of it or offer to give me my money back. :cuss: At best, he offered me 2/3 the cost of the gun. :fire: I took the offer and told him that I won't be doing business with him anymore if this is how he treats his customers. :neener:

JR47 (and others) what is your point? You disagree with how the poll is going so you dismiss it? What would you say if it had turned out, say, 99% good? Would it have been a better statistical sample just because it told you what you wanted to hear? (that's called the "selection bias".)

All the poll says is that 18% of Taurus owners, out of about 220 so far, have been unhappy with them. But admittedly, it's not a random sample either, and no verification that the voters actually do own a Taurus. (Kind of sounds like just about all Internet polls.)

I have no skin in this game, I'm just a Taurus owner who voted one time ;)

Well, I voted 'Bad Taurus' earlier, because I blew the barrel off a brand new Judge with the first shot. Today I got it back from the dealer and it works fine. Also, the dealer said Taurus gave him the best customer service on my repair that he's ever seen in over 20 years of owning a gun shop.

And I shot ten rounds of shot shells and ten rounds of long Colt .45 through it today and all is well.

So, although I can't vote again, I have to say I'm leaning towards 'Good Taurus' now, although time will tell.

taurus PT111ssp milpro, have had it for over 3 years, over 10k thru it...

no repairs, NO problems!
accurate, reliable is an understatement.
its now an extention of my body, and Ive become quite good at pointshooting with it, double taps, multiple targets etc..

it handles great.
its my primary pistol.
closely followed by my Kahr CW9.

MY Taurus is perfect.. Yours, may or may not be...

and then theres opinions of know-it-alls that dont even own one...
