Taurus Police Trade-Ins: If anyone is interested.

I've seen some correctional agencies issue Taurus wheel guns.

Not us, our round guns before we went to Glocks were Ruger Service Six's. The only place I have ever been issued a Taurus wheelgun was with Wells Fargo Armored Service Corp in the early 90s. However, I owned Taurus revolvers back then and they were just fine.

Shocker .. but with the spotty QC of S&W .. I’d feel just as comfortable with a Taurus small frame as a S&W frame …

I have a .38 Special Police Turn in from Brazil. Perfectly good gun. That was quite awhile ago.View attachment 1206805$130.00 as I recall.

I have owned 3 of those Taurus model 82s and they were all fine guns that shot to the sights. The frame is just slightly larger than a K-Frame and there is no barrel flat on the barrel extension. They are a heavy duty model 10 with heavy barrel and the price is right on them. I have also owned at least 4 of the Taururs model 85s and wish I had kept at least one of them. To me they were ever bit as good as a model 36. I really liked the early ones from the 1990s with the wooden grips.

Hold out for the occasional S&W “police trade-in,” whether foreign or domestic, if you want something that retains any quality.

It might be a police trade in, or it might not. They also have used Hi Point pistols labeled as police trade ins.

A good friend just showed me two taurus snubbies he got recently... I almost shed a tear.... but in reality, they aren't bad- Have a couple buds with raging bulls in .44 they like.... for cheap enough I would grab one but since the deals are almost double what the old Smith trade ins went for I dont know

I got online about the time Gecko45 was hitting his stride. I was hooked.

I found out about this now historic phenomenon shortly after the species went extinct online.
A few years ago I was told on another forum by a Mod that I was not permitted to use the term “Mall Ninja” nor was I permitted to bring up his antics.
I guess he made quite an impression…an embarrassing impression.

I often wondered if he was just some guy messing with everyone. I am sure if he came forward now the class of the internet brain trust we have today would probably Dox him and try fervently to discredit and make this genius comedian’s life a living hell.

Or he may have been real…

I simply miss that version of the internet. It was more "look at this moron, let's laugh and then go on with our lives" and less "hey, we're going to dox you and pressure you to kill yourself."
