Anyone had one of these for any length of time? If so how do they hold up? I was looking at a PT101 at a gun show yestereday but ended up getting something else. Couldn't afford both right then. I read (and it looked to be true) that Taurus had beefed up the slide on the 100 but was wondering if the .40 had any long term ill effect on the frame or locking block. All the 92's I've had have been relible tack drivers, and I'm looking to get a .40 House gun.

Can't speak for the models today, but I bought one when they first came out. Accuracy with 180 grainers was great. The 155 factory or my handloads at factory velocity were very dissappointing. If I slowed the 155 grainers down the accuracy picked back up. After a few years I sold the gun. During the time I did own it it never gave any functioning problems and held up just fine.

Similar experience to Majic. Had one for a number of years. Never had any functional problem with it no matter what I fed it but never could get any consistent accuracy from it either. Can't blame it on the 40s&w cartridge since my CS40 has been super accurate from the first day I've fired it.

PT92 was my first gun. Just as good as a beretta IMHO. I got it over the beretta because i liked the position of the safety (learned on a 1911)

I have put about a 1000rds through one over the past 2 years and have had no problems, It seems to be a well made gun.

I've always wanted a PT-100/101. I'm pleased to understand Taurus has a new run of them coming off the assembly line.

I picked up a used earlier model PT-99 (without decocker) for around $200 in like-new condition. I've put a couple thousand ball through mine without any problems at all. I would never hesitate to suggest any PT model to anyone on a budget. Seems to be just as accurate as my G19 and I also tend to find the grips more ergonomic.

I'll echo the opinion on the far more sensible safety location.

These stainless PT100s with rosewood grips sure are tempting!

Have had one for quite a few years now. Picked up a used one at a pawn shop in Georgia in 99. Shot around 500 rounds thru it and noticed a hairline crack just above the extractor and sent it in to Taurus. In 3 weeks I recieved a brand spanking new 100. They even sent the 11 round mag back along with the standart 10 round one.

Since then I have shot well over 2000 rounds thru it with only one failure to feed but it was attributed to a weak mag spring. The mag was one that I bought from a gunshow for $15 bucks.

The accuracy is acceptable. I use Speer Gold Dot JHP in the 165 gr. flavor for carry. The pic below was taken when I was home from Korea on leave. Not my best but after not shooting in 6 months it was acceptable. Was practicing drawing, two quick shots to the COM and one to the head.

I've had one for several years now with no problems. Bought it used from a fellow at work who was pressed for cash. Didn't have a .40 at the time, and the price was right.

I've only put a couple of thousand rounds through it since I've had it. As has been mentioned, accuracy in mine is pretty good with 180 gr. loads, tapering off sharply as the projectile weight decreases. functioning has been a solid 100% with everything.

Nothing has broken or worn out. The only reason that I don't use it more is that it feels "blocky" in my hand compared to other double-column designs.

Very sound choice, IMO, for a dependable .40 at a budget price. Nice quality and a proven design platform.
