Well I filled the niche of a compact .45 with a Taurus PT145 Mil-Pro yesterday after reading all the praises here. I opted for the stainless slide more for aesthetics than anything. It was $295, so you really can't go wrong. I haven't shot it yet, but the gun seems very well made with good fit and finish. Take down was easy and so was reassembly once I fugured out that the takedown lever has to align a certain way with the barrel. I also like that it has a manual safety that operates like all my other semi-autos. I compared it to a Glock 30 and it is lighter and smaller, plus again its got the manual safety and a long trigger pull that also adds an element of safety. Yes, I know the best safety is between my ears, so that being said.....

What are holster options for this gun? I carry OWB and like the pancake style holsters that keep the gun close to the body.

Thanks Denfoote. I did some more research and found that Don Hume also makes holsters for the P-145 Mil-Pro.

I can vouch for the Kramer; I've got a Kramer Belt Scabbard in black horsehide (very well finished pancake style) that holds the PT-145 extremely tight to the body, tip of the barrel barely below the belt line. This OWB holster is as concealable as many IWBs and Kramer holsters are the most durable I've ever used. This is also my favorite OWB for Commander sized 1911s.

I carry my PT145 most often in a Hume H715M IWB clip-on. Love it. I get one of these for every gun I even think about carrying. I have one of their OWB (H720 IIRC) and one of their paddles Like those very much also, but I tend to go about without a jacket or untucked button down most of the time, so I go with IWB. The IWB lets me simply pull my regular sloppy t-shirt over top of the gun.
