Wonder if Taurus will retrofit an old PT-145 to the new DA/SA style? I just got off the phone with them, and if you've got the old style DAO, you're screwed. Can't be retrofitted with parts to make it like the new one..

Sell it and buy a Sa/Da version, I've seen a number of people comment that they would rather have the DAO version of the PT145 (check out combatcarry.com for examples) You might even be able to find someone willing to trade you even up.

Like you I did extensive research and decided to get one too. At first I was concerned about the DA trigger, I don't shoot my revolvers well in DA - lack of practice mostly but the trigger on the PT is sweet! Took no getting used to at all. The only thing I don't care for is the Heini sights, I'd rather have three dots.

To clarify after looking at the gun in your posted picture:

If you have the Heinie sights and "Milllenium" on the left side (with PT-145 PRO on the right), you actually have the newer SA/DA, not the older DAO model, so you've actually been firing single action.

A note to the OP, the grease that Taurus ships those guns with is a little on the thick side and if you didn't clean it off and went out into cold temperatures (say around 40 degrees or colder) I could easily see the grease gumming up the slide and causing issues.

Clean it well, and make sure the slide spring is inserted in the right direction because I've seen TWO NIB guns with the slide spring mounted backwards!
