I am in the market for an entry level 1911 and would like one with a rail. I have been eyeing the Smith and Wessons with rails and love the SA Operator and was ready to go for a light weight Operator when I ran across the Taurus PT1911 with a rail.

They seem to have great reviews and if I can get one with a rail for half the price of a Springfield then I am game. I currently have a GI and a Champion and like both.

Does any one have any idea when these will be out and what their price points are? Any reviews? Thanks

Thanks
Jeff

Who knows! I was just at Sportsman's Warehouse the other day and asked to see a Taurus 1911. The salesman laughed out loud and said he would, too. He says they receive them only one or two at a time, and they sell within a week of being put out on the floor. The stainless ones are the next due, with the railed to follow sometime thereafter. I think it may be awhile before Taurus catches up with demand and starts putting the new frames out. Myself, I really want a standard framed 38 Super when Taurus gets around to it. Long as the price doesn't creep up too high, I can wait. Seems to be a lot of pistol for under $500.

Every place near me that has carried a PT1911 says they don't last for more than a day. I went to Cheaper Than Dirt, they were all out, they've gotten 5 in so far and none of them lasted past closing time. Prices seem kind of high down here too, $510 at CTD, one place in Euless wanted $570, but no places selling for that magical $450-$470 range some people seem to be buying them at in other states.

Does anyone have one yet?

Jeff

I do :neener: $550 out the door 400 remington JHP, 500 federal hydrashoks,
2,000 winchester white box FMJ and im still waiting for it to jam even with the cheap mags that came with it from the factory. A stainless version is on the way in 2 weeks.

everything I have read indicated that the taurus pt1911 railed version would not be out till summer?? is this correct??
