gosh folks, this wasn't a 'strategies and tactics' post

OP has a near new gun that has not yet been shot-a-lot, has had some smith work done on it already, has too frequent misfires, and is trying to resolve that.. and has some pretty good leads on what to do next
(the work was done by a gunsmith, he still has the original springs in hand, and while Magtech primers may be a tad hard, they ain't all that hard; I have shot my share of 'em through a variety of revolvers and autos. See Mr Dale's post.)

all it is, is all it is
no brand warz or defensive philosophy required, nor requested
(I bet OP gets it fixed in pretty short order; if he didn't care he wouldn't be asking)

Thumbs up boss.

As many have already said it's probably the trigger job/springs. It's not related to your "pulling the trigger slowly" or any internal lock and highly unlikely the firing pin is the problem unless there is some obvious damage or defect there. As you already know all primers are not created equal but it should still function with any commercial ammo. Temperature does play a small role here and you may need to have slightly heavier strike/main spring if you frequent extreamly cold climates. The gunsmith probably just went too light with the maispring. On some revolvers you might have to tolerate a little heavier pull then you might like in order to get 100% reliability.
