Taurus Tracker .41 or .45 Colt; anyone have one?

Anyone have one of the stainless steel Taurus Tracker revolvers in .41 Mag or .45 Colt? Seems like a neat little packing gun to me.

How's it shoot? Any chance you can get five shot speedloaders for 'em?

I have a steel tracker 425, .41 magnum.
It's a handful to shoot, and would be a good handgun in a two or four leg scenario.

The accuracy of mine is spotty.
I can put 3 of 5 rounds into a 3 inch circle at 25 yards.
The other two are nowhere to be found.

But at close range it would prolly be accurate enough.
If I had it to do over again, I would have just bought a M57, and let taurus keep their 425, but I'm not selling it again, I sold it once, and bought it back a year later.

I suppose a good smith could accurize it, but I had hoped that it would have been better out of the box.

I have a Taurus Tracker mod 460 4" in 45 colt and it is a great gun. I can keep 5 shots in 4" at 35 yds from a rest. It is a nice lightweight(for being made out of SS) easily carried gun and would be great for woods walking with some good heavy loads. The cylinder is not extra long and you cannot load up very long bullets. I have tried some 300 gr LRNFP and they would just fit. I use 255grLSWC and they are great. I hav enot truly worked up a load for this gun but with Win 225 silvertips I got 4" and my 255gr handloads I got a little smaller. The porting is neither here nor there and not really needed with the 45 colt. I have not tried the HKS speedloader for a charter arms 44 spec but it looks looks it would work.

I have toyed with the idea of selling it cause I want a Ruger super blackhawk hunter in 45 colt and I found one from a special run for Lipsey's.

If you want to shoot kickyouinthepantsthunderinloudenboomers it would be a great gun to have to shoot the living daylights out of, not like a S&W 25 or mountain gun. It is also a good general shooter that will give you some great service for a good while.

It is not a S&W or good Colt or a Ruger but it still shoots and operates very well.

How tough are they? Obviously, they're not Rugers, but would it be wrong to assume that anything that's safe in my 25-5 is also safe in the Taurus?

My owner's manual has a chart of bullet weight/velocity that you shouldn't exceed if you'd like warranty service at some point.
Basically, nothing hotter than factory loads in .41
I have no idea how hot you can go in .45...

While I dont own a Tracker. I own the M44 44mag. Its a Very Well Built Revolver. Tough as Nails. Mine is very accurate with Winchester SilverTips.

Have the 415 and 425 in Ti.
Accuracy is OK--not a Smith!
But pretty neat to backpack or carry all day.
